Random Thoughts of an Untamed Mind

I want to share with you all the beauty I see in the everyday world. I will upload photographs that I have taken in hopes of giving you joy, awe, and perhaps even reflection. But above all, I want the photographs to be that which I feel is beautiful.

Playing in the Garden

While waiting near a garden, I decided to look in, and see what I could find.

The Written Word is Wonderful

You (the reader) can not see me as I think, then slowly pen this. You can not hear my voice, or see my facial expressions. You can not sense or feel my pauses in thought, or any physical illness that I may have. You can see my clothing or surroundings. You have nothing to judge me by, except what I have written down here.

Written word, I love you, and I wish that I had treated you better over the years. Appreciated poetry more, or the great minds. To have spent more time learning your structures, cadence, and vocabulary. I wan to make this relationship work, and will work therefore towards understanding you more.

An open letter to PM Harper

Prime minister,

I am writing to express my extreme disapproval of the Keystone XL Pipeline project. Although I understand that many jobs will be created through going forwards with this project, and that the Americans will be better served by our oil reserves (particularly the tar sands), I can not help but view this project as myopic at best. The jobs will eventually end, and your children as well as future Canadians are going to be handed an environmental blight that needs to be taken care of for fear of further damage.

Please put a stop to this project, and seek other forms of job creation that will be of net benefit to the future of Canada and her coming generations. Projects which show insight into the future, not those which are stuck in the past. Inspire the future, do not shackle it. Become the prime minister of the future, not the seller of it.

Respectfully,

Across the ships board

"Did you find what you were looking for?" the shop keeper asked.
"No. It seems that you don't have any."
"What were you looking for exactly then?"
"The meaning to my life..."

Walking out the door I meandered through the streets of mediocrity into the grey dust of a failed sunset.

Remembering Jack

"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world." -- Jack Layton, August 20, 2011. May you rest in peace.

Slowing in the muzzle's spin

There was not far to go in the run up to the fall. We sat and whispered to each other about the previous times that we had been there. Had it changed in years that had since passed? I stared off into the dying sun, watching the sky shift in hue and grace as the night cooled and due began to collect upon our eye lashes.

"Tell me about your father" she said.
"I can not."

Moving from where we began we found ourselves asleep in arms that belonged to the other. Crying myself to sleep, I await for the sun to rise once again.

golden grasses line the street...

"Where are you?"
"Here, in front of you. Part the grass and look to the east. I will be there."

A low hanging sun warmed the long grasses touched by its rays, a golden hue being imparted to each strand before them.

Sunset

Thursday, February 22, 2007

A fresh new look...

I'd like to go to sleep now...

Got laundry to fold...
dishes to wash,
papers to mark.
wife to talk to...
not enough time to do it all.

The Missing Link

I've been thinkin, could those with downs-syndrom be the missing link between us and apes. The level of intelligence, physical structure, basic caring abilities. Generally peace loving. Could that have been us at 50, 000 years ago? A whole society....
